Here is a small sampling of some of Mead & Hunt's proudest and most challenging work.

Construction of Runway 16L/34R – Eugene Airport

Eugene, Oregon

This project included construction of a 6,000-foot long by 150-foot wide runway constructed 4,300 feet east of and parallel to the airport’s primary Runway 16/34.  The runway will be designed with a non-precision approach from the north.  Associated with the development of Runway 16L/34R is the ultimate closure of crosswind Runway 3/21, although a portion of Runway 3/21 will continue to be used as a taxiway.

Proposed Runway 16L/34R will be served by a 75-foot, full-length parallel taxiway located 4,900 feet to the west of the centerline of the proposed runway.  A pair of 75-foot-wide connecting taxiways will also be constructed to allow movement between the two airfield areas.

A portion of Green Hill Road will require re-routing around proposed parallel Runway 16L/34R.  The portion of Awbrey Lane, between the current and the proposed Green Hill Road, will be closed as a result of the runway.  The portion of Awbrey Lane between US Highway 9 and the new Green Hill Road, will remain open.
