Water System Improvements – Town of Ledgeview
Brown County, Wisconsin
Mead & Hunt has provided a number of municipal water services for this growing community located in the urban section of Green Bay, Wisconsin. First, we designed and led construction of a 1 million-gallon prestressed concrete water storage reservoir. We designed a booster pump and chlorine building to chlorinate water entering the tank, which also provided a connection to a future water source. We then provided facilities plans, factoring in an estimated 11-mile expansion of the water distribution system to accommodate long-term growth. We then divided the town into three pressure zones, including pipe routing, sizing, pressure reducing and boosting stations.
Projecting future water demands for the community, we evaluated a number of alternatives for water supply and storage. In the end, the client agreed with our recommended 100,000-gallon elevated storage tank, due to the relatively limited projected consumption in their upper pressure. Finally, our team designed more than 165,000 feet of water main to accommodate the town’s growing needs.
