Mead & Hunt, Inc.

Airside

Full-service design

Few firms that serve airports can offer every service you need in-house. Mead & Hunt can.  This, of course, makes coordination a breeze and will help keep your projects consistently on schedule.  You will have one main contact, but will also work with project leaders who are experts in their field.  Each team member has the same agenda, as well as a shared vision in the way Mead & Hunt does business.  Our engineering, architecture, environmental, and planning specialists will serve your best interests.

Our firm practices smart engineering when it comes to pavement and electrical design for general aviation and air carrier airports.  Familiarity with the latest pavement design standards – set by the FAA, military, and US Army Corps of Engineers – is essential to a successful airfield.  Besides using the latest technology in our designs, we maximize the use of available funding and minimize impact to operations from construction.  Using recycled pavement materials, for example, cuts cost and waste. Trouble-free electrical systems and NAVAIDs reduce expenses and improve safety.

Guiding projects through the construction process is a major area of work for our aviation services department.  Mead & Hunt uses techniques such as fast-track comprehensive phasing plans and 24-hour-per-day construction to decrease construction time at critical locations and keep operations flowing smoothly.

To increase efficiency of engineering time and to keep accurate records, we developed a computerized construction record program.  This program allows for the daily entry of quantities which provides you with an up-to-date financial status of your airport project.

Our aviation construction experience includes:

  • Survey control and project layout
  • Administration of construction meetings
