GRR’s Sustainable Solution to Runoff Management

In 2011, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality presented the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) a daunting mandate: By October 1, 2015, the airport must eliminate its contribution to nuisance “biofilms” in a tributary to the Thornapple River that receives most of the airport’s stormwater and deicing runoff.
