Deficient bridge near Indianapolis
A new report from Transportation for America, The Fix We’re In For: The State of Our Nation’s Busiest Bridges, ranks 102 metro areas in three population categories based on the percentage of deficient bridges. Among the top three metro areas highlighted in the press release are: Pittsburgh, PA (30.4 percent), Oklahoma City, OK (19.8 percent) and Tulsa, OK (27.5 percent).
The report recommends that Congress provide states with increased resources to repair and rebuild, noting that states need federal support to back their efforts to prioritize repair and maintenance. Download the report here.
