Senior Historian Emily Pettis of Mead & Hunt is facilitating the upcoming postwar residential housing session at TRB’s Winter Meeting in Washington, DC.
The number of post-World War II residential resources that require Section 106 review for transportation projects is increasing exponentially as they meet the National Register 50-year mark and the survey and evaluation of these resources is posing challenges for state Departments of Transportation. Methods, lessons learned and perspectives from various states will be presented including Colorado, California and Georgia. The session will also include an update on the ongoing National Cooperative Highway Research Program postwar residential context and guidelines for survey and evaluation being prepared by Mead & Hunt.
To catch the session and participate in the dialogue discussing the management of these resources attend the TRB Session titled “They’re Still Everywhere: Tools for the Survey and Evaluation of Postwar Residential Resources” on Wednesday, January 25th from 2:30 to 4:00pm.
