Meetings

Public involvement will be a key element in the development of the State Aviation System Plan Update and the Economic Impact Study. Several forms of public involvement will be used to collect comments on the three projects — Regional Workshops, Advisory Committees, Surveys, and this Web site via an on-line comment page.

Presentations to the State Aviation Board

As part of this meeting of the State Aviation Board, Mead & Hunt will provide a brief project update to the board members.

Advisory Committee Meeting

November 14, 2006 — Redmond presentation

  • The Economic Impact Committee will NOT be meeting due to delay in data collection from the survey effort.
  • A joint meeting of the State Aviation System Plan and the Aviation Master Plan will be held at 10 AM. Lunch will be served and the meeting will continue after lunch, as necessary to accommodate topics of discussion.
  • Space is limited, if members of the public chose to attend, they must contact Kevin Mulcaster at 517-321-8334 or via email to allow for adequate accommodations.

Regional Workshops

Two sets of regional workshops will be held to distribute information about the studies and solicit data from airports, local communities and businesses about their use of local airports. The first set of workshops will be held early in 2006 and will be used to kick-off the data collection phase of both studies.

Workshops will be held by region to provide shorter commuting distances. A map illustrating the various regions and a list of airports by region is attached.

The second set of workshops will be held in late 2006 to coincide with the completion of the study. This workshop will be focused on explaining the results of the studies and how to use that information to promote the airport and guide growth around the airport.

The project team will participate in workshops in six different locations for each phase (data collection and results). The location for the workshops have identified (click on the region number for details).

  • Region 1 — Pendleton - Eastern Oregon Regional at Pendleton
  • Region 2 — Ontario – Ontario Municipal
  • Region 3 — Redmond – Roberts Field
  • Region 4 — Klamath Falls
  • Region 5 — North Bend – North Bend Municipal
  • Region 6 — Salem and Portland area

NOTE: A delay within the State of Oregon printing services, caused the Flightlines newsletter to be published after the regional workshops took place. Copies of the PowerPoint presentations for each workshop can be found on this website. If you have comments that you'd like to share with the project team, please feel free to contact the team using the comment form on this web site or call the project contacts.
